Workshop Description: Braided knots can be incorporated into projects like bracelets, key rings, bag closures, and as far as your imagination takes you. In this class, you will create sliding knots with some variations. We will start with the basic knot, then move on to integrating two types of interweaves, such as the Herringbone and Pineapple. The main goal is to repeat the Turks head knot several times, because repetition makes us memorize the steps better.

Materials to bring: Lacing fid/awl, bone folder, thread needles, lacing needles, some brushes, and rags to apply finish and antique. A small desk lamp or headlamp will be helpful, too.

Workshop Instructor: Isaac started with leather as a hobbyist around 1994. He studied at the Arts and Crafts Leather School in Cordoba (Spain) and Loewe´s Leather Design, receiving a Master’s Degree. He has been a full-time leather worker since 2003. Since 2018, he’s been sharing his knowledge, offering classes in different countries. In 2020, he started his business, Leather Artisan Lab, selling carefully selected premium leather tools.

Workshop Sponsors: The Fiebing Company and Y-Knot Lace
