All skill levels welcome!

Workshop Description: This is an immersive two-day workshop where you will learn to build a really nice leather backpack. The construction techniques learned in this class will help you design and make any kind of bag you can dream of. We will focus on installing zippers and using piping to create a bag with more structure and allure. (This workshop may go long both days.)

Materials to bring: Notetaking materials, scissors, permanent marker, brass/copper rivet setter, maul, 1/8″ hole punch, cutting board, a positive attitude. If you do not have some of these items, there will be extras to share. The last item listed is non-negotiable!

Workshop Instructor: Aaron Heizer has been working with leather since 2001. While in the army, stationed all over the world, he found that it was a hobby he could take with him to most places. He is now retired from the Army and owns Maker’s Leather Supply in Elm Mott, Texas. Aaron also operates under the business name of Heizer’s Custom Leather, making custom leather goods, and regularly hosts live Facebook how-to videos.

Workshop Sponsors: Maker’s Leather Supply and Leather Machine Co., LLC
