Workshop Description: Are you bringing someone to the show who hasn’t started leathercrafting yet? Does your partner, friend or teenage kid want to look into it? Do they want to get crafty, while you are looking at your 100th tool or taking a class? Then this is the workshop for them! We will build a simple leather pouch and decorate it with different stamping, braiding, and sewing techniques, all while we’re talking about the fascination of leathercrafting, all the beginner questions, and interesting techniques. Make this show a crafting experience for everyone!
Materials to bring: Cutting mat, X-Acto knife, camouflage stamp (medium size), hole punch-size 2 (3/32“), largest size pricking iron you have (2 and 4 point), and a tooling stone if you have one. Additional decorative motif stamps are optional.
Workshop Instructor: Lea Wagner found her passion in leather craft early in life during her university studies in Germany and decided to follow her dream of becoming a full time leather crafter. After three years of apprenticeship at a workshop and attending a professional saddlery school, she started to create leather art and specializes in fantasy and historical costumes and custom-designed items for movie and theatre. You can find her on social media as Medusa-LeatherArt or visit www.medusa-leatherart.de.
Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co. and Tandy Leather
