All skill levels welcome!

Workshop Description: Dive into the world of colors! In this class, you will get creative and work with different textures, dyes, finishes and colors. Lea will teach you her shading and blending technique with dye and acrylic paint, using different ways to apply color to your leather. Antique techniques and finishes will also be part of our class, as well as light and color theory. In the end, you will not only tool and dye your own “stained glass window” on leather, you will also take home the skills to create stunning light effects on all of your future artworks.

Materials to bring: 3 pairs of rubber gloves in your size, swivel knife, strop, maul/mallet, background stamps, and pear shaders or other textured leather stamps of choice. If you don’t own the supplies needed, you can borrow them in class.

Workshop Instructor: Lea Wagner found her passion in leather craft early in life during her university studies in Germany and decided to follow her dream of becoming a full time leather crafter. After three years of apprenticeship at a workshop and attending a professional saddlery school, she started to create leather art and specializes in fantasy and historical costumes and custom-designed items for movie and theatre. You can find her on social media as Medusa-LeatherArt or visit www.medusa-leatherart.de.

Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co., The Fiebing Company, and Tandy Leather
