Workshop Description: No Experience Needed! This is a project that even those with zero experience can do! How basic is it? Daniel literally starts with, “This is an airbrush.” You will perform some practice exercises to help you build muscle memory, learn how to shade belts and wallets, and learn texturing techniques. By the end of the day, you will have a beautiful eagle feather that you painted! (The eagle feather is carved by you prior to class, and should be brought with you. Materials to bring: Your carved feather (made according to the video referenced above from 2-3 oz. veg tan; find the template here: https://danielreachcreations.com/store/p/eagle-feather-for-airbrush-class), mask of your choice (preferably an N95 or higher), and an 18″ x 24″ newsprint pad. All other necessary materials will be provided (airbrush equipment and paints). (Airbrushes are provided by instructor but will be returned at the end of the workshop. You may bring your own airbrush; however, some fittings may not work, in which case Daniel will have an airbrush for you to use).
Workshop Instructor: As a lifelong artist, Daniel Reach has dabbled in just about everything, but the two niches that have inspired his creative side more than any others are leatherworking and airbrushing. In his early 20s, he apprenticed under one of the top 10 airbrush artists in the world. During that time, he taught dozens of classes and showed hundreds of students how to airbrush. As a leather artist, Daniel is a Master Leather Craftsman, and a multi-award winning artist who teaches on two YouTube channels, including Weaver Leather Supply and The LeatherVerse.
