Workshop Description: Spend the day tooling this unique Specialty Pattern from 23+. Vine work makes up the entire silhouette without any hard cut border. Leave the class with this bucking horse tooled on an 8″ x 10″ piece of Hermann Oak leather that you can finish as a wall hanging or use as a patch for different projects like bags, jackets, padfolios, and more. You will gain confidence in tackling a complex pattern and definitely benefit from different techniques that we work on in the process.
Materials to bring: Tooling stone, mallet/maul, stylus, swivel knife, tools for carving: checkered bevelers, vertical lined thumbprint, veiner, mules foot, and bar grounders or matte backgrounder. Also bring a headlamp if desired.
Workshop Instructor: Joe owns and operates 23+ in Pendleton, OR. He has been tooling leather since 2005. Through his YouTube channel, online courses, and in person classes, Joe specializes in helping beginning leather toolers. The ah-ha moments that students have, continues to fuel his drive to simplify the learning process.
Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co.
