Workshop Description: You will be making a leather “Sling Bag” style purse in this workshop. This bag will have a front zipper pocket and main zippered compartment all fully lined with fabric. Inside edges will be finished with leather binding. An adjustable Herman Oak leather strap will complete the look. You will spend time learning to install zippers, install fabric liner, and finishing all edges. This will be a clean, well constructed bag with a professional finish and no raw edges. You will be using sewing machines, a bell knife skiver, and a burnishing machine. Feel free to bring a small tooled piece to sew to the front if you’d like to give it a personalized touch. Tooled piece must be completely finished and ready to attach to purse. There will not be time for tooling during class.

Materials to bring: Cutting mat, scissors, rotary cutter, 6″x24” clear quilter’s ruler, pencil, notebook, and a Sharpie.
