Workshop Description: Learn how you, too, can create and modify your own leather stamps. Watch Sarah create a new stamp from start to finish using old tools, a vice, and second-hand files. Even though buying pre-made tools can be easier, knowing how to make them is an invaluable skill that will deepen your knowledge and appreciation of the craft. Ask questions as Sarah works and then take turns hopping in the hot seat yourself.
Materials to bring: Note taking materials.
Workshop Instructor: Sarah Garvey is a full-time leather artist specializing in intricately tooled purses and accessories. A single mom of two, she has been designing and creating under her brand, Western Skies Handmade, since 2008. With a background as a classically trained musician, Sarah’s distinct style elevates traditional craft with a fresh blend of classical and modern designs.
