Workshop Description: In this two-hour evening demonstration class, we’ll explore the construction of professional-quality straps, handles, and attachments for leather bags. We’ll demonstrate a variety of strap connectors and reinforcement methods to prevent stretching, distortion, and wear. You’ll learn techniques for creating comfortable purse straps with either burnished or folded edges, as well as ways to reinforce straps using a variety of materials. We’ll also cover how to construct and install handles using stitching techniques that eliminate visible backstitching and conceal the start and stop points, creating a clean, polished, professional finish. {Leandra will be using COBRA Class 20 and 26 sewing machines, a burnisher, and NP-4 bell knife skiver; if you are interested in purchasing COBRA equipment at the show, call Leather Machine Company by February 1 to pre-order at +1 (866) 962-9880.
