Workshop Description: For the BEGINNER! What the heck is beveling and how do you do it? How do you know which side of the line to bevel on? What is pear shading, camouflaging, veining, leaf lining, petal lifting and backgrounding?? What is a swivel knife and how do you use it? What are the differences in leather and the weight of leather? Which leather do I use for what?? How do you cut all this leather? We will go through all of these things and learn how to tool a flower and a leaf! You will also learn about all of the essential tools needed and what they are used for! Lastly we will touch on dyes, antiques, glues and finishes too. All in a day’s work!

Materials to bring: You will need to bring note taking materials, a stamping stone, mallet, swivel knife, beveler, pear shader, camouflage tool, veiner, background tool, seeder, a straight edge ruler, stylus, and a wing divider. Also bring clear packing tape, a weight (bean bag type) to hold your leather in place while you tool, and scissors.

Workshop Instructor: Serina began playing with leather in 2009, being self taught until she attended her first leather show in Prescott in 2015. Her eyes were opened up to so much! Serina and her husband live on a small farm where they raise many animals.
