Workshop Description: Ron will take you on a braiding journey from beginning to end. Learning the techniques of braiding will ensure a journey you will greatly enjoy for a lifetime. Ron’s years of experience will help you learn the techniques of braiding to help you with this journey. He will pass on the techniques you will need to be successful. Ron has worked with some of the best braiders. This experience has greatly helped him on his own journey. He will take you towards more advanced braiding, such as some of the more advanced knots and braids for reins, etc. He will discuss the applications of the different braids. The class will be a good experience all around, and it always sells out.
Materials to bring: Braiding awl (can be purchased from Ron), any questions you may have, notepaper, pencil, and camera (if you like).
Workshop Instructor: Ron has worked all over the West – in California, Washington, Arizona and Wyoming – on many ranches where he picked up and mastered the art of braiding. A long-time teacher of the trade, he has also studied under master braiders. He now gives private lessons at his ranch, teaching others his craft of braiding and knot tying in leather and rawhide.
