Workshop Description: When Xerxes I demanded the Spartans surrender their weapons or be overtaken on the eve of the battle of Thermopylae, King Leonidas I in defiance sent written correspondence with this simple yet bold statement: “Molon Labe! Come and Take Them!” Make yourself or your customer a bag that makes a statement without saying a word. Anyone who supports the Second Amendment can relate to the classic and blunt message created by this bag. Students will use Shane’s original pattern to create a Molon Labe purse or side carry sling bag. A variation allows for a hatchet bag perfect for keeping your hatchet sheathed and within reach on camping expeditions or the coming zombie apocalypse. Minor variations and modifications can be made to turn your bag into a carry/conceal purse or bag. You will be guided through each step to create your bag to take home and put right to use.

Materials to bring: Notebook, pen, head knife, skiving knife, strop, glass for skiving, leather marking pen, and a strap cutter.
