Workshop Description: Learn how to successfully construct a complete scroll from a flow line (backbone). This drawing-intensive class will explore the similarities and differences in the various scroll styles and practice. Together, we will apply that knowledge to create a range of scrolls tailored to your skill level, preferred style, and the specific tools in your arsenal. Practice drawing endless variations of leaves, stems, seeds, stumps, and acanthus elements to use in your patterns. Learn how to position those elements on a flow line and confidently fill in the space. Gain the confidence to break free from other people’s patterns and start creating your own!
Materials to bring: Sketchbook, pencil, and eraser.
