Workshop Description: In this class, you’ll construct a leather bowler bag while learning a variety of professional bag-making techniques. We’ll cover installing a zipper, constructing a slip pocket, and creating and finishing leather straps. You’ll also learn how to design and construct a liner that fits snugly and maintains a crisp, professional appearance. Special attention will be given to alternative liner installation techniques that go beyond simply dropping the liner into the finished bag. This class is designed to build your confidence and expand your skills in clean, structured leather bag construction. (Note: This workshop may go a bit later than 5 p.m.) {Leandra will be using COBRA Class 20 and 26 sewing machines, a burnisher, and NP-4 bell knife skiver; if you are interested in purchasing COBRA equipment at the show, call Leather Machine Company by February 1 to pre-order at +1 (866) 962-9880. Deposit required.}

Materials to bring: Notebook, pencil, sharpie, silver pen, scissors, rotary cutter, small edger, wing dividers, skiving knife, glass or granite skiving surface, small cutting mat, ¾” binder clips, and clear quilter’s ruler (4” x 12” is a great size, but bring whatever you have handy).
