Workshop Description: Start your days off right by exercising your creativity. Building a strong foundation is an absolute must for any artist no matter your skill level or carving style. Through a series of fun and simple exercises that you can easily incorporate in your daily routine, my focused and intentional approach will help you grow and improve more quickly. By deconstructing scrollwork into its simplest forms and exploring variations, you will learn how to draw as well as recognize and correct problem areas. Beginners and masters alike benefit from practicing the foundations with purpose. Bring your morning tea or coffee and sketchbook for this fun, quick morning warmup!
Materials to bring: Sketchbook, pencil, and pen. Optional: straight edge and circle template tool.
Workshop Instructor: Sarah Garvey is a full-time leather artist specializing in intricately tooled purses and accessories. A single mom of two, she has been designing and creating under her brand, Western Skies Handmade, since 2008. With a background as a classically trained musician, Sarah’s distinct style elevates traditional craft with a fresh blend of classical and modern designs.
