Sarah Garvey
Whitney Center for the Arts – WCA 236
Friday 05/15 7:30 am – 9:00 am
All skill levels welcome!
Workshop Description: Pull up a front row seat as Sarah (Western Skies Handmade) spends the morning drawing out and carving a design in real time from start to finish. She’ll walk you through my process and answer questions along the way. Enjoy your coffee while waking up to the sound of my tap-tap-tapping. From designing the initial layout, drawing scrolls, cutting in lines and carving to finishing details, this class will cover the entire process. I also promise to be done in time for you to shop at the trade show. And, who knows, this demo might even help you narrow down (or expand) your tool shopping list…
Materials to bring: Note taking materials (optional).
Workshop Instructor: Sarah Garvey is a full-time leather artist specializing in intricately tooled purses and accessories. A single mom of two, she has been designing and creating under her brand, Western Skies Handmade, since 2008.
