Workshop Description: Ever wonder why your paint doesn’t look quite right or maybe it rubs off when you resist? Struggle with antique not turning out the way you want? Wonder which products you should invest in or how they differ from others? Oil first or paint first? What glue should you use? What’s the best way to seal your edges? Join Sarah (Western Skies Handmade) as she demonstrates what happens after the tooling is done. Learn first-hand her processes for painting and dyeing, oiling, antiquing, and sealing, as well as edge finishing and lining. Use this rare opportunity to ask questions as she works on a handful of her current projects in various stages of completion in real time. All of these questions and more will be covered, along with her two cents, so bring an open, inquisitive mind and notebook.

Workshop Instructor: Sarah Garvey is a full-time leather artist specializing in intricately tooled purses and accessories. A single mom of two, she has been designing and creating under her brand, Western Skies Handmade, since 2008. With a background as a classically trained musician, Sarah’s distinct style elevates traditional craft with a fresh blend of classical and modern designs.
