Workshop Description: Have you ever spent hours tooling a project, only to ruin it when you got to the decorative cuts? I remember my work looking like a cat used it as a scratching post. Once I learned where and how to put in decorative cuts, I was able to start making cuts on purpose that actually looked good. In this class we will work on the fundamentals that make cuts work together to add flow and depth to your work. When you leave this class, a good decorative cut won’t just be a happy accident at the end of your project. Instead, it will be something that you do on purpose.
Materials to bring: Swivel knife, spray bottle or sponge & water dish, drawing pad, pencil, & eraser. (Also bring a headlamp if desired.)
Workshop Instructor: Joe owns and operates 23+ in Pendleton, OR. He has been tooling leather since 2005. Through his YouTube channel, online courses, and in person classes, Joe specializes in helping beginning leather toolers. The ah-ha moments that students have, continues to fuel his drive to simplify the learning process.
