Workshop Description: Tattooling 101 introduces the fundamentals of leather tattooing using the Weaver x 21GRAMS Tattooling Machine. In this class, students will learn how traditional tattoo design translates onto vegetable-tanned leather and how to apply those principles through controlled line work and structure. Dennis Forrester, founder of 21GRAMS and creator of the tattooling method, will guide students through the core workflow: preparing leather, understanding tattoo-influenced composition, transferring designs, and executing clean, readable line work with the machine. Students will watch live demonstrations and complete guided practice focused on line control, depth, and structure. Emphasis is placed on clarity, repeatability, and building confidence with the tool. This class is designed for beginners and leatherworkers curious about incorporating tattoo aesthetics into their work. By the end of the session, students will understand the core principles behind tattooling and how to begin applying the technique in their own projects.
