Workshop Description: If the idea of adding figure carving to your floral carvings is something you have wanted to do, this is a class you should consider. To someone who has never tried it, that can be an imposing challenge, but in this class, Jim will walk you through the basics that everyone needs to know to add realistic-looking figures to their work. If you are wanting to do more than just another floral carving like everyone else, come learn how to add a new look to your work with some figure carving.
Materials to bring: Stamping surface, swivel knife, spray bottle or sponge & water dish, strop, mallet, stylus, wing dividers, modelling spoon, your favorite floral carving stamps plus figure carving bevelers such as F890, F891, F895, F902, F976, F910, F898, and F899.
Workshop Instructor: Born and raised on a ranch in eastern Montana, Jim Linnell has had leather working in his blood ever since his first visit to the Miles City Saddlery. Now, after spending the last 50+ years working with leather, those sounds and smells are still a part of his life.
