Workshop Description: In this workshop, participants will construct the Heritage Crossbody Purse, a classic design focused on clean lines and functional details. Instruction will emphasize professional construction techniques, including pattern layout, skiving, sewing, installing hardware, and refined edge finishing. Participants will also learn how to install a fabric liner, construct a zippered pocket, and install a zippered opening. Additional instruction will cover managing bulk in seams and applying binding for a clean, durable interior finish. Each participant will leave with a completed crossbody purse and a reusable pattern for creating future pieces for their customers. {You’ll be using COBRA Class 20 and 26 sewing machines, a COBRA burnisher, and the COBRA NP4 bell knife skiver; if you are interested in purchasing COBRA equipment at the show, call Leather Machine Company by May 1 to pre-order at +1 (866) 962-9880. Deposit required.}

Materials to bring: Notebook, pencil, sharpie, silver pen, scissors, rotary cutter, 3/4 binder clips, small edger, wing dividers, small cutting mat, and clear quilter’s ruler (4” x 12” is a great size, but bring whatever you have handy). Please put your name on the ruler.
