Workshop Description: Whether this is your first time tooling or you are learning to refine your skills, you will benefit from the one-on-one time in this class, learn the basic skills it takes to create a floral design on veg tan leather. Discover simple tips that will make your swivel knife run smoothly and your bevel lines look even. Then, we will add shading and detail tools to create a professional finished appearance. You will leave with a tooled piece that you can later build into a roper wallet or use as a patch on a bag or other project.
Materials to bring: Tooling stone, mallet/maul, stylus, swivel knife, tools for carving (checkered bevelers, vertical lined thumbprint, veiner, mules foot, flower center, backgrounder), and note taking materials. (Also bring a headlamp if desired.)
Workshop Instructor: Joe owns and operates 23+ in Pendleton, OR. He has been tooling leather since 2005. Through his YouTube channel, online courses, and in person classes, Joe specializes in helping beginning leather toolers. The ah-ha moments that students have, continues to fuel his drive to simplify the learning process.

• There is a $25 administration fee per cancellation.
• The cost of each workshop will be refunded minus the $25 fee.
