Workshop Description: After seeing many of his colleagues struggle with cutting and preparing their own lace for braiding, Isaac has decided to share his expertise. In this hands-on class, you will learn how to cut lace from a full hide using various tools and techniques. Isaac will also share valuable tips to simplify the process and improve your results. Thanks to Y Knot Lace and Lace Master for supplying demonstration tools, and to Weaver Leather for the lace cutter that students will keep, you’ll also have the chance to split and bevel your own lace. Additionally, you will gain experience using a variety of tools from different manufacturers, helping you make more informed decisions about expanding your own tool collection and choosing the options that best suit your needs. By the end of the class, not only will you have the skills to cut and prepare your own leather lace, but you’ll also take home a lace cutter and a few meters/feet of lace you crafted yourself.
Materials to bring: Small cutting surface, scalpel or scissors, and a wing divider.
