Workshop Description: Western engravers face many challenges unique to our trade. Diane will demonstrate single and multiple borders, scroll work, backgrounds, how to add interesting elements to your work with different engraving techniques, and what to do with difficult areas, etc. Time will be set aside for questions and answers, specific demo requests, and for students to try some of the engraving techniques and tools.

Materials to bring: Paper and notebook. Projects in the works or in concept only.

Workshop Instructor: Diane Scalese has been hand engraving for over 30 years. Beginning with silver engraving on the bits and spurs that she and her husband Bob built, Diane also began building and engraving saddle silver, belt buckles, and jewelry. In time, she began engraving firearms, knives, and watches. Diane is a Master Engraver in the Firearms Engravers Guild of America, a Colt Master Engraver with the Colt Collectors Association, and a 2018 inductee in the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth, Texas.
