Workshop Description: Discover the specialist craft of glove making in this hands-on, one-day workshop. Participants will explore the qualities of gloving leather, learn about traditional glove-making tools, glove anatomy and construction, and practice a selection of hand-stitching and decorative techniques. Inspired by traditional archery gloves, participants will create a contemporary two-finger, thumb-free fashion glove design. You will learn how to measure your hand, personalize a glove pattern to your size, position and cut the pattern from fine gloving leather, and construct the glove entirely by hand. By the end of the workshop, participants are expected to complete one glove and begin the second, with the skills and instructions needed to finish it independently at home. No previous glove-making experience is required.

Materials to bring: Notebook, pencil, and a pen. If possible, please also bring: leather scissors, paper scissors, a metal ruler, an overstitch wheel (5mm distance), and a thimble. If not possible to bring your own, these will be provided in limited quantities to borrow/share.
