Rozet – Lokaal 3.05

Wednesday 15. October 09.00 – 17.00

All skill levels welcome!

Workshop Description: Learn how to make an impressive 3D dragonhead. Each student will learn how to use simple tools to decorate and shape the dragonhead. The coloring will be done with acrylic paint and the dragonhead can then be finished as a charm, embellishment, or mounted on a handbag flap. Learn the skills in Arnhem, and then make many more and have fun with colors when you get home! Gesa will provide acrylic colors and brushes to color the 3D dragonhead, but if you’d like to paint your dragonhead in a special color, feel free to bring your own. If you don’t have all the tools, Gesa will have some to loan.

Materials to bring: Pencil, short ruler, tracing stylus, sharp knife, stamping tools (U867, C432, V708), hole punches (2mm, 10mm, 14mm), stamping stone, cutting board, swivel knife, maul/mallet, and a water spray bottle.

Workshop Instructor: Gesa Thiessen found her love for leathercraft while making model horse tack during her teen years. Her love of horses and leathercraft let her start a three-year apprenticeship at Passier & Sohn, a traditional German saddlery, where she is still employed. During her apprenticeship, she met other young saddle makers and was introduced to leather carving, which started her passion for any kind of artistic leatherwork. Gesa speaks German and English.

Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co. and Renia GmbH
