Workshop Description: In this class, you will building 2 styles of tally books: a 3×5 flip-style book and a 3×5 notebook-style book with a pocket for note papers, as well as a business card pocket. Time allowing, you can build both books or just focus on one and take the other one home to build. You will learn how to burnish thinner leather and apply a finishing coat. {You’ll be using COBRA Class 20 and a COBRA burnisher; if you are interested in purchasing COBRA equipment at the show, call Leather Machine Company by May 1 to pre-order at +1 (866) 962-9880. Deposit required.}
Materials to bring: Tooling stone, maul or mallet, stamping tools, wing dividers, sharp swivel knife, a #2 edger, spray bottle or sponge & water dish, burnishing canvas or denim, small cutting board, notebook and pencil, and a ruler.
Workshop Instructor: Bob Bennett owns and operates Rocking Spade Leather and Duffs Leathercare Products in Heber City, Utah. He has been the Northwest director for the CSMA for over 10 years, where he was the recipient of the Howard Munsell Award. He has been doing leather work of all types and projects for over 50 years and for over 15 years, he has turned it into a side business where he builds saddles and does saddle repairs, holsters, knife sheaths, belts, notebooks, chaps, chinks and what ever else comes into the shop.

• There is a $25 administration fee for canceling a workshop.
• The cost of each workshop will be refunded minus the $25 fee.
