Workshop Description: This class will present ideas and techniques for pockets, linings, and front closures like buttons/buttonholes or zippers. Julie will have samples and will be able to answer your questions regarding the fine finishing details that will set your vest apart. This is a ‘demonstration only’ class, with no sewing required from you. Julie recommends that you take Vest 101 (the workshop was called “Make a Vest That Fits” in 2023) for a greater understanding of the techniques to be presented. {You will be using the COBRA Class 20; if you are interested in purchasing COBRA equipment at the show, call Leather Machine Company by February 1 to pre-order at +1 (866) 962-9880. Deposit required.}
Materials to bring: Note taking materials.
Workshop Instructor: Julie Pierce has been sewing by hand for as long as she can remember and on a machine since a 1970 home economics class. In the years since, Julie has made everything from bridal gowns to rodeo royalty wear. Julie first began making leather clothing in 2009, when she completed a leather jacket to wear at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
