Workshop Description: In this class you will carve chinks/chaps yokes with a delicate floral design. Starting from a multi primary circles layout you will add your choice of flowers. Yokes are patterned after Julie Bayha Baugher design, so you will be able to use your creation on chinks/chaps you could build from her patterns packs.
Materials to bring: Tooling stone, mallet, strop, and carving tools. Yves can provide stamping tools if needed; please email him at: ylesire34@gmail.com.
Workshop Instructor: Yves Lesire started as a self-taught leathercrafter during the first 25 years of his career, working with leather while in the French Navy, and later as a waiter on cruise ships. He began making western saddles after attending Fred Harsant’s school. He is now a full-time western saddle maker and teacher. Yves is a founding member and a former president of the European Cowboy Gear Maker and Artist Association.
