Workshop Description: This is the NEWLY REVISED version of Bobby’s most popular demonstration. If you are interested in learning various methods to produce professional quality edges, then this is your class! Aided by the use of cameras and a large screen TV, Bobby demonstrates each step of a number of burnishing techniques. Topics include hand finishing, machine burnishing, burnishing solutions, the proper selection and use of edgers, edge dyeing, and finishing. New for this demonstration is the use of polymer-type edge paints as manufactured by Giardini, Fenici, and Maker’s Leather Supply. This multi-step process is proven to be effective on almost all types of leather, solving the age-old problem of obtaining a durable and professional edge finish on chrome tanned leather! Time permitting, Bobby will open a Q & A discussion on any subject which interests the class.
Materials to bring: Note taking materials. Cameras are welcome. NOTE: Edge Magic and Edge Markers will be available for sale in class.
