All skill levels welcome!
Workshop Description: The first rule of this workshop: Let’s have fun with it, because there are so many places we can use wet forming on our projects. We’ll start with some simple wet formed projects like a classic opera mask. From there, we’ll talk about and work with common shapes and pieces for wet forming such as bullet loops, welts and belt keepers. We’ll make a mold from scratch with common items found in our shop and home and then we’ll take it up a level with molds on molds, more complex molds, and even a beautiful diamond plate design. The last thing we’ll do is get creative by making our own form design and then form a pouch flap onto that. Other topics of discussion will be using leather formers to hold our shape, baking for a harder form, and how to add tooling or stamping to formed pieces.
Materials to bring: Note taking materials. Weaver Leather will provide all of the supplies.
Workshop Instructor: Chuck has been a hobbyist and professional leather crafter for more than 30 years and creates the project videos and The Leather Element series for Weaver Leather Supply..
