Kathy Flanagan
Rozet – Lokaal 3.14
Friday 23.10. 09.00 – 18.00
All skill levels welcome!
Workshop Description: The turkey hen is close up and personal, made from a photo Kathy took in her front yard. This is a small picture on leather, but is full of details and textures. Embossing is a part of the process, and there’s something new . . . a glass eye! Once you learn this new technique, you can add glass eyes to anything you want. The black and white painting is also a fun, new idea which can be used on any picture. Come join me for a fun-filled day.
Materials to bring: Tooling stone, stylus, modeling spoon, swivel knife, bevelers, matting tools, texture tool for background, pear shaders P206 and P631, small & smooth steep beveler, fine hair blade, scalpel with #11 blade, and a fine felt tip pen.
Workshop Instructor: When she was very young, Kathy started her leathercraft career as a 4-H project, not knowing what it would lead to many years later. She has become the recipient of prestigious awards, such as the coveted Al Stohlman Award and Master Leather Artisan of the Year from the Academy of Western Artists. Figure carving has become her primary focus, and she is determined to share everything she has learned. Kathy will teach in English.
Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co.
