Workshop Description: This class is designed for absolute first-timers — no tools, no leather, no experience required. Students will be provided with everything they need and guided step-by-step through the basics of leather tooling. Swift (Swifthammer Leather) starts from square one: how to prepare and stabilize your leather, transfer an image cleanly, and avoid common mistakes that can trip up new artists. Instead of being boxed into traditional floral patterns, students will work on a non-traditional design that feels fresh, fun, and approachable. Along the way, Swift will show how each tool works and why it matters, giving you the confidence to keep practicing at home with the set you take home. Known for his clever, non-traditional teaching style, Swift makes the learning process lighthearted and stress-free, while laying down a strong foundation for your future projects. Just show up — everything else is covered.
Materials to bring: Note taking materials. Battery operated lighting/headlamp is not required, but will be helpful.
