Workshop Description: Make your own unique sneakers! In this class Simone will show you how you can design and finish sneakers by yourself. Since we only have limited time, each participant will make a pair of sneakers as a single-layer variant. The sneakers on this day can be made of cowhide or leather that Simone provides. Different thread and sole colors will ensure that each pair is unique.

Simone will have some examples with her and will be happy to answer any questions about lined sneakers and the different patterns available; this way, you can easily transform your own ideas later at home or in your own workshop! She is really looking forward to spending a great and creative day with you!

Materials to bring: Notetaking materials, pencil, sharp scissors, cutting knife, socks you want to wear them in the sneakers, and (if you have them) a pair of insoles (or the entire pair of shoes) that fit well.

Workshop Instructor: Simone (Moe) Umbach is 42 years old and lives in southern Germany. Her job as a mechanical engineering technician meant she has always liked working with her hands. She started trying out with leather 9 years ago. For a few years, she made custom leather handbags full-time, which she shipped all over the world. Moe now has an online shop for people who like leatherwork and she goes to different markets to sell her products such as belts, handbags, sneakers and accessories. After being asked to offer workshops, she began to offer those that match products in her online shop.

• There is a $25 administration fee for canceling a workshop.

• The cost of each workshop will be refunded minus the $25 fee.
