Workshop Description: Turkeys sometimes don’t have the best reputations, but a tom turkey all dressed up, ready to impress the girls is an awesome sight to see. That’s how the tom in this workshops is presented. The image is taken from one of the instructor’s own photos. Learn to adapt a photo into a leather work pattern and build on it for a realistic leather picture. This turkey will be embossed with feathers tooled in, and the colors include the iridescent sheen that is evident in the sunlight. This workshop will be taught in English.

Materials to bring: Stamping stone, mallet, stylus, modeling spoon, swivel knife, strop, smooth bevelers, smooth and textured matting tools, seeder S633, hair blade, palette knife, small felt tip pen.

Workshop Instructor: When she was very young, Kathy started her leathercraft career as a 4-H project, not knowing what it would lead to many years later. She has become the recipient of prestigious awards, such as the coveted Al Stohlman Award and Master Leather Artisan of the Year from the Academy of Western Artists. Figure carving has become her primary focus, and she is determined to share everything she has learned.

Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co. and Renia GmbH
