Workshop Description: Part 2 in 4-part series! – Saddle Horns, Swells, Gullet! Bob will cover a saddle horn while he explains the principles involved when covering horns – both iron and wood posts. He’ll cover a gullet as he discusses the factors involved when changing gullet height, and then wrap up the class with instruction and discussion on covering swells of all sizes and shapes. Materials to bring: Notebook, pencils, camera, and questions.

Workshop Instructor: Bob has been carving leather since 1959 and making saddles since 1962. As past president of the Colorado Saddle Makers Association, as well as being one of its founders, he is accustomed to teaching saddle making and leather carving at its seminars as well as for 4-H and in his own saddle shop. Bob is primarily self-taught and is eager to share his knowledge with others. He is a recipient of the Howard Munsell Award for promotion of the art of saddle making, and in 2010 he received the Al Stohlman Award for Achievement in Leathercraft.
