All skill levels welcome!

Gaps or loose ends in your lacing? Trying to master a new knot? Have a special project that requires braiding? Whether you’re just starting out, or you’ve been at this for years, Ron’s decades of braiding, lacing and knot tying experience will bring your skills to a whole new level. If you need help, Ron can help you learn how to do it yourself! Each session lasts 90 minutes…that’s plenty of time to learn new knots and get your questions answered. Plus, it’s purely 1-on-1 time with Ron. Save yourself a trip to Ron’s California workshop and get in on this deal while you’re in Prescott. Leather or rawhide, bring in your projects or just sit down with Ron and ask away. If you want to, Ron will braid a small project with you, from beginning to end. From quirts and reatas, reins to bosals, walking stick grips to hatbands, Ron will work with you until you “get it”! Ron will gladly converse with you about preparing rawhide as well.

Materials to Bring: Awl (can be purchased from Ron), any projects you have questions about, notepaper, pencil, camera and questions! Several types of rawhide/lace will be available. All students under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Ron has worked all over the West – in California, Washington, Arizona and Wyoming – on many ranches where he picked up and mastered the art of braiding. A long-time teacher of the trade, he has also studied under master braiders. He now gives private lessons at his ranch, teaching others his craft of braiding and knot tying in leather and rawhide.
