All skill levels welcome!
Workshop Description: Have you ever wanted to learn to do custom lettering for your projects? In this workshop, we are going to create an old west saloon sign that focuses on two different custom lettering techniques.
While students will be required to bring their own tools, our vendors will supply much of what is needed to bring it to life. Please see the list for details.
In this comprehensive workshop, participants will not only master traditional lettering techniques but also explore the art of inverted lettering, and adding depth and flair to their designs.
Join us in this fun and exciting project that will help you create something to be proud of.
Materials to bring: Stamping surface, swivel knife, strop, steep edge smooth beveler (optional: traditional smooth beveler), maul/mallet, seeder, modeling spoon, large checkered backgrounder, and an A98 backgrounder or something similar (all sizes are best, but medium and small for sure).
Workshop Instructor: As a lifelong artist, Daniel Reach has dabbled in just about everything, but the two niches that have inspired his creative side more than any others are leatherworking and airbrushing. In his early 20s, he apprenticed under one of the top 10 airbrush artists in the world. During that time, he taught dozens of classes and showed hundreds of students how to airbrush. As a leather artist, Daniel is a Master Leather Craftsman, and a multi-award winning artist who teaches on two YouTube channels, including Weaver Leather Supply and The LeatherVerse.
Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co., Angelus, and Tandy Leather
