All skill levels welcome!

Workshop Description: Many people who have a good handle on floral carving find them selves intimidated with figure carving. Truth be known, it’s not that hard. In this workshop Steve will show you how to take photos and turn them into figure carving patterns that you can incorporate into your floral designs. Learning these techniques will broaden your ability to give your work that extra personalized pizzazz. You will be learning basic figure carving skills, and advanced tooling techniques. Don’t be intimidated…I guarantee this will be fun and enlightening!

Materials to bring: All floral tools and figure carving bevelers that you would like to bring, modeling spoons, a stamping stone, maul/mallet, swivel knife and strop.

Workshop Instructor: Steve has been dabbling in leather for 20 years, completing projects of all levels and ambitions, but his main focus has always been creating a unique look that blends many traditional aspects and styles of tooling to form an unpredictable, fresh look to an age-old medium. Many have tried to label his style, often calling him the sunflower guy, but his main focus is to bring motion into his leather tooling.

Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co.
