Ed LaBarre

Thursday-Friday, 2/28-3/1, 8:00am – 5:00pm Room 104, ‘Tis Art Center & Gallery

Advanced

In this 2-day workshop you will concentrate on the details that will help your projects stand out! Ed will cover tooling with intense detail, addressing: How deeply to cut the lines, where to lighten up or not to cut at all; How to create true depth in tooling; Sculpting the tooled area for a much more realistic outcome; And when, where and how to use a modeling spoon. Ed will go over how to keep your project free of errant marks from finger nails and other tools. On day 2, students will experience and learn the steps to Ed’s signature “nature colors” process. Students will focus in great detail on natural shading and fading. For advanced students or those who have taken Ed’s workshops in the past.

Materials to Bring: Maul/mallet, smooth pear shaders and thumbprints, assorted modeling spoons and stylus, lightly checkered or smooth bevelers (no steep angle), smooth or lightly checkered matting tools, swivel knives, strop, stamping stone, hand held petal lifters, artists’ palette and assorted brushes (including ¼” flat or filbert and medium pointed brush).
