Yves Lesire

Rozet – 3.03

Friday 28.10 09.00 – 13.00

All skill levels welcome!

Workshop Description: Mostly self-taught, Yves has been a full-time saddle maker and teacher for the last 25 years. During that time, he lost some time on the “trial and error road”, which helped him develop his skills. Now, Yves wants to share his knowledge and experiences, and he firmly believes that being self-sufficient is far better than being dependent one someone else’s work or pattern. So, from learning to draw directly onto the leather – skipping the pattern transfer step – to the finished project, follow Yves on the path to a unique approach for floral drawing/carving. Learn how to get flow, harmony, and balance in your projects using his personal multi-primary circles method. There will be plenty of time for questions. A perfect follow-up workshop is Yves’ Intermediate Floral Drawing (for those with some experience). This workshop can be taught in both French and English simultaneously.

Materials to bring: Notebook, pencil/pen, and a camera.

Workshop Instructor: Yves Lesire started as a self-taught leathercrafter during the first 25 years of his career, working with leather while in the French Navy, and later as a waiter on cruise ships. He began making western saddles after attending Fred Harsant’s school. He is now a full-time western saddle maker and teacher. Yves is a founding member and a former president of the European Cowboy Gear Maker and Artist Association. He regularly teaches leatherworking and carving classes at his workshop in Villeveyrac, France. Yves speaks French and English.

Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co.
