Workshop Description: Do you have fences to mend? Are you in need of small saddle bags to carry those mending tools? Do you want your saddlebags to be more personal? Do you want saddlebags with a pattern to take home with you? Then this workshop is for you! In this workshop you will assemble and border stamp (with pre-cut leather) a pair of cowboy working saddlebags that were featured in the March 2005 Western Horseman magazine. These saddlebags are shaped to fit behind the cantle, complete with a pouch to hold your fencing pliers (pliers not included), or any other item you may want to carry. You will also finish and polish the edges and border stamp your bags, using your border stamp. You will get to keep your finished saddlebags and a paper pattern. This will be an informal workshop; bring your questions and curiosity!

Materials to bring: Notebook, pencil, border stamping tool, mallet, stamping stone if possible, swivel knife, compass, beveler, #2 edger, round knife, and a hand skiver.

Workshop Instructor: Davis Reynolds started serious leather work after returning from Iraq in 2003. Before Bud Shaw’s passing, it was Davis who spent hour after hour in his shop, learning Bud’s methods and carving style. As a disabled veteran, Davis is uniquely qualified to work with other veterans in the area of leathercraft. He enjoys the learning process and helping others with their work. • There is a $25 administration fee for canceling a workshop.

• The cost of each workshop will be refunded minus the $25 fee.
