Workshop Description: Have you ever wanted to make purse or bag out of a pair of your old, favorite boots or a family member’s boots?? Well, now you can learn how to do just that! Learn how to deconstruct the boots and then turn them into a thing of beauty! In this workshop you will cut the boots apart, open them up, and decide what is the best way to make a bag. We will line it, make a pocket, add a closure strap , and attach a nice strap. You will need to bring a pair of CLEANED boots for this workshop. Boots will NOT be provided.

Materials to bring: Notebook, pen/pencil, cutting mat (preferably a large one with grid marks), a scalpel or X-Acto knife, quilter’s ruler (I prefer one that is 18″ x 3″), sharp scissors or knife of your choice to cut leather, rivet setting tools, headlamp/magnifier if needed, an edge beveler for about 6/7 oz leather, small hole punch for rivets, mallet, hole punching surface, and…a pair of old, cleaned-up boots!

Workshop Instructor: Serina Lee started her leather career slowly in 2009, doing a bit more each year. She was self taught until she attended the Southwest Leather Workers Trade Show in Prescott in 2015, where she learned many great things from so many wonderful instructors! After attending the show, her leather world really took off! I no longer felt alone in the leather world and it was a great feeling! Serina does primarily custom orders in her leather shop. She is married to Larry of 36 years, has 3 adult children (with in-laws), and 8 beautiful grandchildren. She lives on their small ranch in Central Ca. For fun and relaxation Serina loves to spend time with grandkids, going to their sporting events, visiting family in other states, trail riding, loving on animals and woodworking!

Workshop Sponsors: Hermann Oak Leather Co., The Fiebing Co., Leather Machine Co., LLC, Tandy Leather, and Weaver Leather
