Product Description

Robert will demonstrate and tool along with students as they create and color a repeating scroll pattern for a belt. Through his many years in leather, Robert’s unique tooling and coloring techniques have developed into his signature style. This project will highlight that style and allow students to learn some of Robert’s strategies for tooling and finishing belts and other tooling projects. Students will not make an entire belt but will instead complete a full design element for a belt that can be repeated on any length of belt.

Materials to bring: Swivel knife and blades, strop, maul/mallet, #4 pointed paintbrush, artist’s palette and stamping stone. Floral stamping tools: bevelers, veiners, pear shaders, cams, mule foot, lifter or undercutter, backgrounders and stops. (See page 4 for traveling board/stone combo). Robert will have Pro Series Tools for students to try/purchase.
