Workshop Description: What is beveling and how do you know which side of the line to bevel? What is pear shading, camouflaging, veining, leaf lining, petal lifting, backgrounding??? What is a swivel knife and how do you use it? What are the differences in leather and the weight of the leather?? How do you cut all this leather??? We will go through all of these things and learn how to tool a flower and a leaf. Learn about all of the tools and what they are used for! We will also touch on dyes, antiques, and finishes too! All in a days work!!

Materials to bring: Note taking materials, a tooling stone, mallet, swivel knife, beveler, pear shader, camouflage tool, veiner, background tool, seeder, a straight edge ruler, stylus, and wing divider. Also bring clear packing tape, a weight (bean bag type) to hold your leather still while you tool, and scissors.

Workshop Instructor: Serina Lee started her leather career slowly in 2009, doing a bit more each year. She was self taught until she attended the Southwest Leather Workers Trade Show in Prescott in 2015, where she learned many great things from so many wonderful instructors! After attending the show, her leather world really took off! I no longer felt alone in the leather world and it was a great feeling! Serina does primarily custom orders in her leather shop. She is married to Larry of 36 years, has 3 adult children (with in-laws), and 8 beautiful grandchildren. She lives on their small ranch in Central Ca. For fun and relaxation Serina loves to spend time with grandkids, going to their sporting events, visiting family in other states, trail riding, loving on animals and woodworking!
