All skill levels welcome!

The focus of this workshop is to cover the basics, which is the foundation to tooling and working leather. Ed will cover topics like: Preparing leather for tooling to control stretch; How to properly case leather and why it is done; How to carve lower grades of leather more easily. This workshop will be more of the “bones” of how to get good results by learning the tips that usually take years to learn on your own. To this end you will lay out, carve and do some basic coloring of an oak leaf panel.

Materials to Bring: Maul/mallet, “basic 7” (or more) stamping tools – including a sharpened swivel knife, strop, fine point stylus, straight edge/ruler, stamping stone, ¼” flat brush, artists’ palette and a medium pointed brush.
