Friday, 19. October, 2018 - ROZET, Kortestraat 16, Arnhem

09.00-16.00, (9 am - 4 pm)

Skill Level: All Skill Levels Welcome!

Course Description:

Lisa and Loren Skyhorse will guide students through the process of building a hanging wine holder for 4 bottles. This will include cutting out the patterns, drawing and tooling, stitching, coloring and finishing the wine hanger. This beautiful hanger could also hold magazines, towels, etc. The finished piece is 4” wide by 40” long, so there is lots of room for decoration. Lisa will guide you through design and carving. Loren will instruct you through construction, coloring and finishing. Some materials donated by Hermann Oak Leather Company, Leather Machine Company, Renia GmbH and The Fiebing Company.

Student Should Bring: Swivel knife, strop, stamping and beveling tools, mallet, head knife/utility knife, #2 edger, paper/tracing paper, pencil, a special concho (1 or 2) for decoration, rubber gloves and cutting board and stamping stone (see page 4 for traveling board/stone combo).

Lisa and Loren Skyhorse live and work in Durango, Colorado. They have been a full-time saddle making team since 1974. Together, they have built over 1000 custom pleasure, trail and show saddles, as well as furniture, accessories and art pieces. Another passion of theirs is to build “collection saddles”, which are pieces of ride-able art. A recent project involved casting one of their collection saddles in bronze – twice.
