Aaron Heizer & Janie Sue Adair

Thursday, May 17, 8 am - 5 pm

W209, Sheridan Community College

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Take home a wrist cuff that you make from start to finish! First, you’ll learn how to measure for the thickness of leather available. Then, Aaron and Janie Sue will discuss how to adapt the cuff in an elliptical shape to accommodate any shape of stone, as well as how to inlay the stone. You’ll be skiving (a lot!) and learn how Aaron finishes an edge. Finally, you’ll apply a finish and snap closure and wear it out of class! Materials provided by Maker’s Leather Supply and Leather Machine Co., Inc.

Materials to Bring: Measuring tape (cloth), ruler, sharp knife, skiving knife, stamping/cutting surface, wing dividers, swivel knife, strop, stylus, pen, pencil, notebook, a smile and coffee for Janie Sue.

Aaron Heizer & Janie Sue Adair

Aaron Heizer has been working with leather since 2001. While in the army stationed all over the world, he found that it was a hobby he could take with him to most places. He is now retired from the Army and owns Maker’s Leather Supply in Elm Mott, Texas. Aaron also operates under the business Heizer’s Custom Leather to make custom leather goods. Janie Sue and Aaron combined talents to become a great team in business and leather. Janie Sue is an excellent beader and instructor and makes sure to keep Aaron on track and out of trouble!
