Cowboy cuffs have completed a cowboy’s outfit for a long time. Bob is offering you an opportunity to make your very own pair. Layout patterns will be supplied in different sizes along with a flower carving pattern. You can choose to flower carve, basket or block stamp or border stamp yours. Student will learn about choosing leather and proper layout, cutting, carving, stamping, edging, burnishing edges, punching holes, applying finishes, lacing or braiding and setting snaps. Leather for this workshop provided by Hermann Oak Leather Co.

Materials to Bring: Note taking materials, camera, swivel knife, mallet, stamping tools, stamping surface, round knife or favorite cutting knife, wood or poly cutting surface, #2 or #3 edger. Edge rubbing supplies, hole punches, lacing, snaps and snap setters will be furnished. If flying to the show, contact Bob at 970-878-5382 to arrange for tools.

Bob Klenda has been carving leather since 1959 and making saddles since 1962. As past president of the Colorado Saddle Makers Association, as well as being one of its founders, he is accustomed to teaching saddle making and leather carving at its seminars as well as for 4-H and in his own saddle shop. Bob is primarily self-taught and is eager to share his knowledge with others. He is a recipient of the Howard Munsell Award for promotion of the art of saddle making, and in 2010 he received the Al Stohlman Award for Achievement in Leathercraft.
