Broaden Your Knowledge: Ground Seats

Keith Seidel

Tuesday, May 15, 8 am - 5 pm

W129, Sheridan Community College

Skill Level: All Skill Levels Welcome!

Renowned saddlemaker, Keith Seidel will demonstrate and explain in detail how to properly install a tunnel style ground seat for both a tin strainer and an all leather ground seat. You will learn where best to cut the leather from the hide, how to position stirrup leathers, and how to properly shape the seat to balance the rider correctly for different disciplines of horsemanship. Keith will also teach how different styles of riggings affect how the seat must be shaped, and how to change the shape of a seat to make it feel wider or narrower. He will also explain the differences of shaping the seat for male or female riders. Leather donated by Hermann Oak Leather Co.

Lunch is included with the workshop to encourage open discussion.
